Top Shop Golf
I started Top Shop Golf three years ago as part of a high tech driving range then called Topgolf. Our customers are avid golfers as well as golfers that are new to the game. My business is right on the tee line which increases my foot traffic immensely. Topgolf used to have a typical pro shop but elected to get out of that business due to the competition in the Dallas area and they turned the shop over to me to manage.

Specialty
My specialty is doing the custom work that the other guys can’t do in these chain stores, such as custom wedge grinds, regrooving, hot melt inside drivers, launch monitor testing outside, giving the golfer a true understanding what their launch angle and spin rate should be and a full knowledge of all shafts for the proper fit. That’s just a short list of the services I provide!

What Separates Top Shop Golf From The Box Stores
What separates me from the others is experience and speed. I can literally throw on a set of grips in 10-15 minutes. In the Dallas area, golfers don’t want to skip a heart beat while they are playing so delivering services fast is essential. I can blow grips on and off, re-shaft a driver or irons an hour before tee time. 

Merchandising strategy
I have established my business Top Shop Golf as a tour shop and carry a wide range of shafts from $30 to $550 and aggressively promote various manufacturers' Drivers, Hybrids, and Irons. I am a Master Clubfitter and I offer the golfer a large selection quality components and name brands (e.g. Nike, Adams, TaylorMade etc).
